米立志

【个人简介】

天津大学生命科学学院研究员,博士生导师。长期从事受体复合物的结构与功能研究。在国际上第一个用电镜观察了完整表皮生长因子受体(EGFR)在去污剂条件下的构象。并且与人合作研究了细胞表面EGFR受体的单次跨膜域在配体结合后的构象变化,以及激酶抑制剂对受体激酶的调控。研究了与免疫调控及发育有关的受体及其复合物结构。在 Nature, Mol. Cell, Nat. Strut. & Mol. Biol.、PNAS, JBC、MCB 和 Biochemistry 等杂志发表论文30余篇。文章分别被Nature等杂志以特约评论文章形式加以报道,并被FACULTY 1000等推荐。

获得过教育部科技进步三等奖(1998年第二完成人),及美国弗吉尼亚大学院长奖学金。2014年入选天津市青年千人。目前担任中国生物物理学会冷冻电镜分会理事,主持国家自然科学基金面上项目2项。

 

 

【报告内容简介】

由于环境污染与人口老龄化等因素,我国癌症发病率持续增高,严重影响着人民的健康与生活。开发具有自主创新的靶向或抗体类药物,对于治疗癌症、提高患者的生存质量有着不可低估的价值。而这一切离不开对于药物靶底的结构与功能的研究。相应研究同时也会带动新兴生物技术产业的发展,为国民经济提供新的增长点。

但由于癌症干细胞的抗药性及其再生功能,传统的癌症治疗方法往往不能彻底根除癌症细胞,从而导致癌症的复发与转移。研究表明癌症的复发导致了90%癌症患者的死亡。因此研究癌症干细胞的再生与分化,不仅具有极其重要的生物学意义,并且可以为治疗包括癌症与退行性疾病在内的各种疾病提供新的治疗策略。

在讲座中,我将介绍癌症的发生、发展过程, 以及癌症结构生物学的研究现状,并以非小细胞肺癌为例讲述癌症结构生物学与精准医疗的关系。

About the Lecture:

Air pollution and the aging population cause significant increases in the incidence and mortality of cancers in China. The pain, fatigue, and other hallmark symptoms of cancers lower the life quality and expectations of patients. The cost and care in the treatment give incredible burdens to the families suffered from cancers. Thus, the cancer treatment and prevention attract great concerns from the whole society. Although significant progress had been achieved in the past decades in understanding the basis for cancer development and progression, the strategies developed in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancers are still insufficient in the arm-race with the occurrence and development of cancers. Several countries had launched national projects, including the state key projects in China and Cancer Moonshot in USA, in developing targeted therapies and precision medicine in fighting against cancers. Even though targeted therapies exhibited enormous success in early treatment, cancers eventually become resistance to the treatment and relapsed. In fact, cancer relapse accounts for 90% of death from cancer. In this report, I will introduce some basic concepts and recent progresses in the targeted therapies and precision medicine. In addition, I will discuss the potentials of structural biology in the novel therapeutic development against cancer.
