Institute for Molecular Design, School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Tianjin University

Dr. Mark A Olson’s group in the Institute for Molecular Design within Tianjin University’s School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology is accepting applications for a postdoctoral position to participate in the development of new organic materials with emphasis in supramolecular chemistry, surface science/surface chemistry, soft matter, molecular switches, and molecular machines. Specific directions include: 1) development of functional organic materials including both small and macromolecules molecules and the investigation of their performance characteristics in solution as molecular entities, 2) carryover of successful systems into the macromolecular world of polymeric scaffolds, metal-organic frameworks, colloids, and nanoparticulates, eventually leading to 3) incorporation of these macromolecular components into device settings with a wide range of applications from drug delivery to molecular electronics. The postdoctoral fellow will join and collaborate closely with a cohort of research professors within the Institute for Molecular Design including Sir James Fraser Stoddart and Dr. Chi-Hau Sue.
