Event attendees included Tianjin University leaders, Seth Marder, a professor of the Georgia Institute of Technology, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Tang Benzhong, Cao Yong, Zhang Hongjie, Zhou Qilin, Han Buxing, Tan Weihong, Tian He, Zhao Dongyuan, Jiang Lei, Ma Shengming, and Xie Yi, as well as representatives from other universities.

During the ceremony, Professor Zhong Denghua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Tianjin University, and Professor Tang Benzhong, honorary director of the Institute and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences unveiled the plaque of the Institute.

After the ceremony, academicians Zhao Dongyuan, Zhang Hongjie, Ma Shengming, Jiang Lei, Han Buxing, Tan Weihong, Tian He, Xie Yi, and Professor Seth Marder gave lectures.

At present, molecular aggregation research covers almost all cutting-edge directions in chemical fields, thus a must for chemistry to achieve further development. The establishment of the TJU Institute of Molecular Aggregation Science reflects the TJU’s push for crossing and integrating disciplines and “Double-First Class Project”, an initiative to develop world-class universities and first-class disciplines. This institute will be based on scientific research and talent cultivation, explore new scientific phenomena and theories, promote scientific integration and growth, and realize product development and transformation.
