School of Network Security Founded

On August 31, the unveiling ceremony of the School of Network Security was held at the Peiyang Park Campus of Tianjin University.

Cyberspace security was officially approved as national level I discipline in June 2015. Based on the integration of the faculty engaged in research related to cyberspace security, the School of Network Security relies on an established cross-discipline platform for network security research, and a strong and professional faculty team.

The School of Network Security is composed of four Departments: the Department of Network Security and Technology, the Department of Software and System Security, the Department of Basic Teaching Center of Network Security and the Network Security Experimental Center. The new School has brought together researchers from related research institutions, including the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Advanced Network Technology and Application, the Tianjin Public Security Data Technology Engineering Center, Tianjin University and the 360 United Laboratory, and the China Information Security Evaluation Center (Tianjin) Sub-Center. The Tianjin University Network Security United Laboratory and the Tianjin International Cooperation and Technology Base - International Center for Big Data are included.

Among all the faculty teachers there are, 34 full-time lecturers, 13 professors, 17 associate professors, 1 National Excellence Award Winner, 2 experts of“the Thousand Talents Plan”and 1 first level talent of the“Tianjin 131 talents plan".

The research directions of the school include: cryptography and application, network information security, security software engineering, network attack and defense, information content security, computer forensics, hardware security, cognitive security, information security technology, large data public security, cyberspace security management, and etc.
