Tianjin University Invites Outstanding Overseas Scholars to Apply For National “1000 Youth Talents Plan”

 

Brief Introduction of Tianjin University 

Tianjin University (TJU), founded as Peiyang University, is the first modern university of China. With the motto of “Seeking Truth from Facts”, TJU exercises rigorous academic scholarship with a strong sense of commitment. TJU was identified as one of the first batch of the 16 National Key Universities designated by the government, and it is also among the first group of institutions of higher learning to be included into the “211” and “985" Projects of national investment for developing world recognized universities. 

With deepening reform of the personnel system, TJU has been carrying out a tenure system with its own characteristics. As a new campus was put into use in 2015 to pave more space for development, TJU has intensified its effort for talents recruitment. Working and Living Conditions 

Post and Title:  

If the applicants are successfully selected for National “1000 Youth Talents Plan”, they are entitled to be as full-time tenured professors. 

Compensation and Benefits: 

An annual salary before tax from RMB 650,000 to 700,000 is offered. 

Relocation Allowance: 

From TJU: a relocation allowance of RMB 500,000 (tax free) is offered. 

From Government: the appointee of National “1000 Youth Talents Plan” is granted a relocation allowance of RMB 1,000,000 (tax free).  

Start-up Research Fund: 

From TJU: a start-up research fund of RMB 1,500,000 for science and engineering fields and RMB 300,000 for humanities and social science fields is offered. 

From Government: research funds will be allocated in line of the policies and treatments of each national program (around RMB 2,000,000~3,000,000). 

Service Guarantee:  

Academic/faculty position be offered. 

TJU provides assistance for spouse's employment. 

Children be educated at the kinder gardens and primary school in TJU.  

Qualifications 

Applicant, intending to work as a full-time faculty, who is not more than 40 years old, shall hold a PhD degree with great academic potentials and outstanding achievements, having overseas scientific research experiences of at least 2 consecutive years. 

At the point of application, applicants should not have been working full-time in China; else, applicants should have worked in China no more than 1 year.
