The 20th National Congress Resonates Across the Himalayas

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China attracts great interests all over the world. On the occasion of the congress, The NATION, an English-language daily newspaper in Pakistan, published a front-page article “THE 20TH NATIONAL CONGRESS RESONATES ACROSS THE HIMALAYAS". The article was jointly reported by Muaz Awan, a Pakistani youth who is a doctoral candidate at Tianjin University, and Cui Ru, a reporter from CCTV-CMG.

The article mentioned, “As China convenes the Congress, the world is looking forward to China’s development and it’s planning for the future. The topics and decisions made during the congress will of far-reaching significance to the world.” What’s more, “Great achievements have been made in the past few years, especially the grand goal of building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and solving the problem of absolute poverty," the article concluded.

Moaaz Awan is currently a Ph.D. candidate majoring in architectural engineering at Tianjin University. During his studies, he actively participated in related activities organized by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the “Belt and Road” initiative and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, also he delivered particular views in terms of youth innovation and entrepreneurship. He also participated in the construction of the Three Gorges Corporation’s Karot project, the first hydropower project of the “Belt and Road”. Awan has made positive contributions to serving the local people and promoting sustainable development.
