About the School of Microelectronics

The School of Microelectronics of Tianjin University is one of the 28 National Demonstration Schools of Microelectronics under construction and preparations in the country. It currently has 830 undergraduate students and 699 graduate students of various types. It was officially and independently operated in November 2016. In December 2017, Tianjin University released the "Tianjin University World-Class University Construction Plan", and microelectronics is one of the ten key support construction areas.

The School has strong disciplinary strength. Relying on the national first-level discipline of electronic science and technology, it has built a doctoral program and post-doctoral mobile station in electronic science and technology, the national second-level key discipline of microelectronics and solid-state electronics. And the first-level discipline of integrated circuit science and engineering has been approved by the university. At the same time, it has Tianjin Key Laboratory of Imaging and Sensing Microelectronics Technology, National Integrated Circuit Talent Training Base, Tianjin National Integrated Circuit Design Industrialization Base for Modern Service Industry, Key Laboratory of Advanced Ceramics and Processing Technology of the Ministry of Education (one of the directions), International Internet of Things Joint Research Center (Tianjin), Tianjin Engineering Center for IC & Computing System Technology and other scientific research platforms. At the same time, the School actively participates in the construction of Georgia Tech Shenzhen Institute, Tianjin University, Qingdao Institute Ocean Engineering of Tianjin University, and Hefei Innovation and Development Research Institute. The School of Microelectronics actively promotes the deep integration of production, education and research, forming a characteristic development direction centered on "communication", "imaging", "perception" and "positioning", including RF and Terahertz Microelectronic Systems; image information perception and integration; micro-nano electronic information functional materials and devices; information transmission and intelligent processing, etc.

Taking advantage of its own faculty and technical advantages, the School of Microelectronics actively serves the regional integrated circuit industry by jointly cultivating high-end technical and management talents in the industry, building enterprise service platforms, creating school-enterprise cooperation demonstration projects, and providing suggestions for local-enterprise cooperation.

About Tianjin Integrated Circuit Core Fire Double Creation Platform

In recent years, with the strong support of the University, relying on Tianjin Institue of Chip Microsystem Integration Co.Ltd, the School has been approved as the Tianjin "Core Fire" dual innovation base and Tianjin National "Core Fire" dual innovation platform, and vigorously promotes the integration of production and education, innovation and entrepreneurship and other related work to serve scientific research and industry around integrated circuits.Tianjin Integrated Circuit Core Fire Double Creation Platform creates a strong integrated circuit academic and industrial atmosphere, and continues to promote integrated circuit scientific research, talent training and industrial development.
