Professor Li Guangquan

Li Guangquan was born in Jiang An County, Sichuan Province in 1936. He graduated from the Chemical Machinery and Equipment Major of Tianjin University in 1958. He once worked as the Executive Member of the Automation Society, President of SESC (Systems Engineering Society of China), Deputy-president of Tianjin Automation Society, Director of the Systems Engineering Society of Tianjin, and Vice-chairman of the Tianjin Association for Science and Technology. He had been long engaged in the teaching and scientific research on the majors of Process Control and Systems Engineering. He presided over the editing of the National Unified Teaching Material—Automatic Control Theory. He was awarded the Certificate of Honor from the State Council for his significant contribution to the development of the higher education of China in 1992.
Li served as President of Tianjin University from 1993 to 1997.
