Professor Wu Yongshi

 

Wu Yongshi, born in An Qing, Anhui Province in 1927, is renowned as a microwave technical expert and higher educator. After graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Nan Kai University in 1950, he then worked in Tianjin University as a professor.
He was appointed as the President and Honorary President of Tianjin Association for Science & Technology, Chairman of The Evaluation Expert Committee on Teaching Works in Higher Learning Institutions, Commissioner of National Science and Technology Association, Standing Director of CIE (Chinese Institute of Electronics) and Chinese Higher Education Academy. Wu also served as a valued member in international institutions, being the premium member of IEEE (International of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), member of AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) and Academician of New York Academy of Science.
The years of Scientific Research and Teaching experiences on Electronics brought him deserved honors. He was titled as the “National Educational System Model Worker” and issued the “People’s Teacher Award” by the State Education Committee and the National Ministry of Personnel in 1993.
He was elected as delegate of the 7th and 8th National Congress.
Wu Yongshi served as the President of Tianjin University during 1986 to 1993.
