Learn Chinese at TJU-- Teng Soknal from Cambodia

Hello everyone,I am Teng Soknal (Chinese name, Cheng Jinren).  I am from Cambodia, and now I am a pre-college student of the School of International Education at Tianjin University.

I have been in China for nearly one year, and I still remember when I first came to China, everything was strange to me, including the cold and dry climate which is so different from that of my hometown. What matters most is that my Chinese level is not high enough despite the fact that I had studied Chinese for several years before, so it has been a good chance to improve my Chinese. With the help of my teachers, my Chinese has improved a lot, and now I don’t make so many grammar mistakes as before, and my ability to write in Chinese has been enhanced as well. Moreover, I have gained some extra-curricular knowledge and have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. Thanks for my teachers’ patient instructions and warm-hearted help.

During the time I have studied in China, I learned how to take good care of myself and be independent, and I am growing more mature. At the same time, I have been exposed to many people who are from different countries with various cultural backgrounds, which have broadened my horizons and helped me get more experience. So, I really appreciate the experience of studying in China.

Finally, I want to express my gratitude to the Chinese government for the scholarship and this precious chance offered to me. In the future, I will continue to work hard and not let my parents and teachers down.
