Peng Yigang

 

Professor Peng Yigang was born in Hefei, Anhui Province, in September 1932. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering and began to teach at TJU in 1953. In 1983, he obtained the academic title of Professor and in 1985, became the Doctoral Supervisor. He worked as the convener of the 4th Discipline Evaluation Group for Architecture under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. His academic achievements earned him the Liang Sicheng Architecture Award, the highest award in this field in China. In 1995, he was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He also served as a member of the 8th and 9th National Committee of CPPCC, the central member of China Democratic League (CDL), and the Standing Member of CDL Tianjin Committee.
