Three Tianjin University International Students’ Cultural Experience Bases Launched in Tianjin

 

Time passes and winter eases into spring. On February 26, 2016, the opening ceremonies for three Tianjin University International Students’ Cultural Experience Bases were performed at the Tianjin Nankai People’s Palace of Culture, Tianjin Old Town Museum, and Tianjin Folk Custom Museum. 

The governmental officials and university representatives addressed opening remarks and inaugurated the ceremonies. The international students visited the painting and calligraphy exhibitions at the Tianjin Nankai People’s Palace of Culture, and joined the yangko group and dance team for celebration. They also visited the Tianjin Old Town Museum and Tianjin Museum, attended the crosstalk and enjoyed the traditional exhibitions and performances featuring the best of Tianjin cultural and art. 

Tianjin University (TJU) attaches great importance to international students’ cultural activities. TJU organizes various activities and events for international students. Those events include tour of traditional cultural and art scenic spots, experiences of folk customs, language practices and applications and investigations of Chinese current development situation. These events and activities play a major role in assisting international students to properly understand China’s new role, get acquainted with Tianjin, and get involved in campus life in Tianjin University.

TJU establishes sufficient Chinese cultural experience and practical teaching bases in terms of education, practical training, and cultural communication areas as needed, also organizes various cultural activities and events for international students. The establishment of the three cultural experience bases will greatly enhance international students’ cultural perspectives, enrich their cultural life, assist them better experiencing Chinese cultural, and provide powerful guarantee for the development of international cultural activities.
