A New National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center in Tianjin University

 

Recently, a list of one hundred national experimental teaching demonstration centers in 2015 was announced, and the Tianjin University’s Energy and Dynamics Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center gets approval.

Tianjin University’s Energy and Dynamics Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center proposes the “353 system” to cultivate the talents with “global perspective, high quality, and innovative spirit”, establishes the innovative experimental teaching system with its practical teaching supported by diversified education resources.

The center surpasses the category of traditional education resources, combines over forty enterprises and institutes from internal combustion engine and geothermal fields to form two industry-university-research alliances, and associates with over twenty world-class universities home and abroad to establish the thermodynamics intelligence introduction base. By combining the “production resource” from alliances, “international resource” from intelligence introduction base, and the research resource” from state key laboratory/major laboratory of Ministry of Education of the PRC, the center establishes five teaching plates including “project control experiment curricula”, "research practical training”, "production practical training”, "global perspective extension”, and “group innovative practice” and cultivates outstanding talents with “global perspective”, "high quality”, and “innovative ability”.  

The center proposes the “stimulus, collision, and refinement” teaching ideology by absorbing education resources from curriculum, internship, and practical training process, organizes diversified education circumstances formed by multi-level professionals including professors, lecturers, graduated students, undergraduates, and engineers (called the “melting pot”), promotes the interests and enthusiasm of the students, accelerates the development of diversified education resources.

In 2015, the Information and Telecommunication Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Electronic Science and Technology Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and School of Architecture Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center from Tianjin University got approved as the Tianjin experimental teaching demonstration centers.

So far, Tianjin University operates seven national experimental teaching demonstration centers: Chemical Engineering and Technology Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Mechanical Engineering Practical Teaching Center, Engineering Mechanics Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Electrical and Electronics Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Precision Instruments and Petroleum Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Materials Science and Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Energy and Dynamics Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center; nineteen Tianjin municipal experimental teaching demonstration centers (construction institutes) including Bio-engineering and Pharmaceutical Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Naval Architecture and Marine Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Physics Experimental Demonstration Center, Modern Management Experimental Demonstration Center, Environmental Science and Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Pharmacy Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Chemical Technology Experimental Demonstration Center, Computer Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Digital Media Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Information and Telecommunication Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Electrical Science and Technology Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and School of Architecture Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center.
