Tianjin University Rises in ESI Rankings: Chemistry and Environmental Ecology Shine

In a recent update of the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database on May 9th, Tianjin University (TJU) made remarkable strides, ascending 24 places to claim the 166th position globally. This remarkable achievement cements TJU's status as one of the fastest-growing institutions in China, showcasing its commitment to academic excellence and research innovation.

Two notable subjects, Chemistry and Environmental Ecology, have made significant entries into the ESI rankings. Chemistry, now listed in the ESI 1‱ category, surged to the 16th position worldwide. This achievement solidifies Chemistry as the second subject from TJU to be charted after Engineering in the ESI 1‱ category. On the other hand, Environmental Ecology made a stellar debut, entering the ESI 1‰ category. It soared an impressive 41 places, securing the 172nd rank globally. With this addition, Tianjin University now boasts a total of 5 subjects listed in the prestigious ESI 1‰ rankings.

The Essential Science Indicators (ESI) serve as a benchmark for assessing the global academic standing of prestigious educational institutions. TJU's continuous rise in the ESI rankings is a testament to its unwavering dedication to academic excellence and research prowess. The university's overall academic stature has been on a steady incline, evident in the soaring ranks of various subjects in the ESI ratings.

With a total of 15 subjects listed across all 22 ESI areas, Tianjin University has firmly established its presence in the global academic landscape. These subjects encompass a wide array of disciplines, including Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Computer Science, Environmental Ecology, Biology and Biochemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Agricultural Sciences, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Earth Sciences, Economics and Business, General Social Sciences, Clinical Medicine, and Plant and Zoology.
