The 11th CPC Congress of Tianjin University was held from February 22 to 24, 2023. The Congress reviewed the work of the university since the 10th CPC Congress and drew a new blueprint for high-quality development of Tianjin University.

Professor Yang Xianjin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin University, on behalf of the 10th CPC Tianjin University Committee, delivered a report entitled “Strive towards a new paradigm for the development of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics”.

The student representatives form an important part of the congress delegates. A total of 30 students from all schools and colleges were elected as delegates. After the Congress, student delegates shared their opinions.

Student delegate Zhang Yachi, Grade 2022 postgraduate student from Law School, who has been studying at Law School for five years, said: “I am encouraged by the ‘cultivation of new liberal arts talents’ mentioned in the report. I have witnessed my school’s successful application for doctoral programs and being approved as a national first-class undergraduate major construction. The report proposed the macro visions of ‘promoting the reform of education model’, and also put forward concrete and feasible initiatives to ‘build a high-level practice platform’. I once participated in a ‘cultural heritage conservation project’ with the support of the university. After the project was transformed, it won the third prize of the ‘Challenge Cup’. My achievements are benefited from the university’s practice platform.
