Fruit Festival Fills Campuses with Fragrance of Sweet Fruits

 Arts and Culture

On an early morning, both campuses of Tianjin University was filled with the fragrance of sweet fruits. TJU’s Fruit Festival came as promised in this early winter.

Each TJUer received a “winter fruit pack” from the school, which included pitayas from Natan Village in Guangxi Province, navel oranges from Tingliang Town in Guangxi Province, Huaniu apples from Li County in Gansu Province, and Jujubes with walnut kernel from Cheng County in Gansu Province.

Since 2002, Tianjin University’s Fruit Festival Project delivers sweet fruit for students and carries out a series of interesting activities in each spring and autumn, twice every year, which has been held 21 years up to now.

The Fruit Festival Project adheres to the student-oriented concept, and is planned, organized, and held independently by the students.

This year is the 21st year of the Fruit Festival Project. The Fruit Festival Project has become a brand of campus culture, carrying the unique memory of generation after generation of TJUers.

After voting by students, the four kinds of fruits were selected according to the voting results, which are: pitaya, navel orange, Huaniu apple, and Jujube with walnut kernel.

Now, let’s take a look at the fruit delivering site and smell the fragrance in the air.
