Du Xiaolong is a postgraduate of 2021 from the School of Mechanical Engineering. He has held several positions at the school, such as the student assistant of the Party Committee, the secretary of the Second Party Branch of the 2018 undergraduate students, and the head of the Organization and Practice Department of the Graduate Student Union.

Du is intelligent in both academic performance and scientific research. During undergraduate period, his weighted scores always ranked among the top ten, and he was recommended to the International Center Laboratory of Modern Mechanism and Robotics of Tianjin University for postgraduate study. Du has won the National Encouragement Scholarship, Weichai Power Encouragement Scholarship, Merit Student of Tianjin University and other honorary awards, and also won the first-class academic scholarship twice during postgraduate period.

He earnestly put what he learned into practice and participated in the national innovation project "Design and Development of Solar Compressed Gas Energy Storage Device" and the national key research and development project "Multi-Working Condition Performance Research Based on Parallel Mechanism".

In addition, Du is a frequent in science and technology innovation competitions, and has won more than ten provincial and above awards, such as the gold award of 2019 China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, the gold award of Tianjin University Student Maker Marathon Competition, and the third prize of the 9th Mechanical Innovation Design Competition in Tianjin.

Since 2018 when he registered as a volunteer, Du has been participating in a series of volunteer activities, including fruit Project, Smart space station, the 15th Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Competition, auto show in International Convention and Exhibition Center, and work on epidemic prevention and control on campus. With all these altruistic endeavors, he has won the honorary titles of Tianjin University Advanced Individual of Party Affairs, Tianjin University Advanced Individual of Volunteer Service, Tianjin University Model Student of Gratitude and Dedication.

Du has been awarded more than 50 honors and awards, including the 15th Star of Self-improvement of Tianjin University, Outstanding Student of Tianjin University, Outstanding Graduate of Tianjin University, Outstanding Student Leader of Tianjin University, Outstanding Communist Youth League Member of Tianjin University, and Top Ten Outstanding Youth of the School of Mechanical Engineering. He was elected as one of the 2021’s Stars of Self-improvement of Chinese College Students.
