TJU-NUS Tops the CS List on the Nature Index

Tianjin University-National University of Singapore Joint Institute in Fuzhou (TJU-NUS) has achieved the highest total collaboration score (CS) among all strongest pairings of international institutions of the leading five nations in the Nature Index.

The Nature Index 2022 Big 5 supplement is based on the Nature Index database, covering the research articles published between 2015 and 2021. This supplement showcases research outputs of the leading 5 nations (the United States, China, Germany, United Kingdom and Japan) and collaboration programs of over ten strongest partners around the world including Harvard University-University of Zurich and Chinese Academy of Sciences-Max Planck Society. Collaboration Score is calculated by adding each institutional partner’s Share in their joint articles in 2021.

Tianjin University (TJU), National University of Singapore (NUS), the Education Department of Fujian Province and the People's Government of Fuzhou City signed the Agreement for the Establishment of Tianjin University-National University of Singapore Joint Institute in Fuzhou on 1 December 2018.

Drawing on the strengths and resources of two elite universities, the Joint Institute aspires to be a world-class platform driving cutting-edge research, innovation and technology transfer, as well as the cultivation of future-ready top talents. Aligned with China’s national development strategies and the socio-economic development requirements of Fujian, the Institute’s strategic research thrusts include flexible electronics, emerging optoelectronics, advanced manufacturing, energy materials and catalysis. To date, the Joint Institute has possessed a scientific research team of over 200 people (including doctoral students) and published more than 600 academic papers in world-class journals.
