A Letter to Tianjin University International Students Who are Currently in China

 Global

Dear International students:

Recently, the respiratory illness caused by Omicron has been breaking out in Tianjin. Since your health and safety are our most concern, the School of International Education proposes that all international students take effective and scientific anti-epidemic measures and protect yourselves adequately.

1. All international students must abide by Chinese laws and university regulations. You must also obey the relevant epidemic-prevention regulations the university and local communities set and refrain from engaging in illegal activities.

2. You are encouraged to maintain healthy living habits and constantly take effective self-protective measures. We emphasize that you must wear masks as and when required. Other recommended epidemic control measures are not limited to proper and frequent hand-washing, adequate indoor ventilation, etc.

3. Students who enter the laboratory to study and carry out experiments shall strictly abide by the laboratory regulations and put safety first.

4. Social gathering in the dormitory is forbidden for students living on campus. Please avoid close contact with people with respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, etc.

5. For the students living off-campus, please protect yourself and avoid non-essential outdoor activities. Providing residential accommodation to anyone who does not live with you and organizing social gatherings are forbidden.

6. Please remember to dress following the weather conditions. Be sure to get enough sleep and exercise regularly. It is also recommended to adopt a well-balanced diet and healthy lifestyle as active precautions.

7. Students currently in China should not leave the campus or Tianjin and avoid traveling between cities if unnecessary. If you have made plans to leave your current residence, please inform your teacher-in-charge in advance. You are not allowed to leave the campus, Tianjin, or China without official permission from the university. At the same time, you must send the itinerary information to tjusie_xgb@163.com if you are permitted to leave.

Finally, we hope that you continue to keep yourself and others safe from infection by taking the necessary precautions. If you encounter any difficulties, please feel free to reach out to the university for guidance. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We believe that we will defeat the COVID-19 epidemic shortly with good faith and your cooperation. We hope the New Year brings you good health and happiness and plenty of academic achievements.
