Zhang Zhongxiang Delivers Keynote Speech at 2021 Beijing International Seminar

2021 Beijing International Seminar on Micro-Electronics & IC WORLD Conference was held in Beijing recently. This conference was hosted by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and Management Committee of Beijing Economic - Technological Development Area. The co-organizers were China-Beijing Semiconductor Industry Association (CBSIA), Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Association (CASPA), Zhong Guan Cun IC Industry Alliance (ZIA), Science and Technology Innovation Center (Beijing) Co., LTD. (STIC) and Beijing Yizhuang International Investment and Development Co., LTD.

With the theme of “Pooling Chip Power, Creating Chip Eternity”, the conference was held with summit forum, eleven sub-forums and expo held at the same time, focusing on the pain points, bottlenecks and critical points of the development of the integrated circuit industry, and strive to gather the concerted efforts of the global semiconductor industry, and bring together the industry leaders and enterprise elites at home and abroad. Besides, this conference advocated building an integrated circuit industry ecological highland which will be globally competitive, and striving to create an industry grand event featuring "high quality, great integration, and collaborative innovation throughout the whole industrial chain”.

Professor Zhang Zhongxiang, founder and dean of Ma Yinchu School of Economics of Tianjin University, and president of The National Institute of Energy, Environment and Industrial Economics, was invited to deliver a keynote speech focusing on key technologies, bottleneck issues, and the relation of Chinese chip and carbon neutrality/carbon economy at the summit forum. Chen Xiaonan, deputy director of Management Committee of Beijing Economic- Technological Development Area and first-level inspector, presided over the summit forum.

It is reported that Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area , as one of the main battlegrounds for Beijing to build an international scientific and technological innovation center, is one of the regions with the highest concentration degree of integrated circuit industries and the most advanced technology in China. Currently, a complete industrial chain, with SMIC and NAURA as bellwethers, has formed, including manufacturing, sealing and testing, assembling, parts and materials and design enterprises, and has gathered a group of globally influential integrated circuit companies.
