A Letter to All International Students of Tianjin University

 Global

Dear International students,

COVID-19 has swept the world throughout the year of 2020. At the moment, epidemic prevention and control mechanism has been part of our daily normal life in most countries across the world. However, efforts to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic should still continue and not to be neglected. The year 2021 is coming. We hope that our students can welcome the new year with positive mindset and physical fitness. Since your health and safety is our most concern, the School of International Education proposes that all international students to take effective and scientific anti-epidemic measures and protect yourselves adequately.

1. All international students must abide by Chinese law and university regulations. You must also obey the relevant epidemic-prevention regulations set by the university and local communities, and refrain from engaging in illegal activities.

2. You are encouraged to maintain healthy living habits and take effective self-protective measures constantly. We emphasize that you must wear masks as and when required. Other recommended epidemic control measures are not limited to proper and frequent hand-washing, adequate indoor ventilation, etc.

3. Please reduce non-essential outdoor activities and avoid travels to medium and high risk regions.

4. For students living on campus, social gathering in your dormitory is forbidden. Please avoid close contact with people who have respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, etc.

5. For the students living off-campus, please protect yourself and avoid non-essential outdoor activities. Providing residential accommodation to anyone who does not live with you and organizing social gatherings are forbidden. Those who violate the rules will face the consequences of their actions.

6. Please remember to dress in accordance with the weather conditions. Be sure to get enough sleep and exercise regularly. It is also recommendable to adopt well-balanced diet and healthy lifestyle as active precautions.

Students who are currently in China should avoid travelling between cities and participating in group activities. Do not leave the school, Tianjin or China if it is unnecessary. If you have made plans to leave your current place of residence and travel out of the city or go back to your home country, please inform your teacher-in-charge in advance. You are not allowed to leave Tianjin or China without official permission from the university. At the same time, you must send the itinerary information to tjusie_xgb@163.com.

Students who are not currently in China should not return to the university or China until you receive an official notice from the university. Please take the initiative to stay in touch and communicate with your college and supervisor, and make arrangements for online course studies and scientific research as required. At the same time, avoid international travel if possible and abide by local epidemic prevention regulations, as the health and well-being of you and your family is of utmost importance.

Finally, we hope that you continue to keep yourself and others safe from infection by taking the necessary precautions. If you encounter any difficulties, please feel free to reach out to the university for guidance. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We believe that with good faith and your cooperation, we will defeat the COVID-19 epidemic in the near future. We hope the New Year brings you good health and happiness, and with plenty of academic achievements. Happy New Year!
