National Training for Teachers in Vocational Colleges Held in Tianjin University

From October 26 to November 7, 2020, the 2020 National Training for Teachers' Quality Improvement Plan in Vocational Colleges was held at Tianjin University. A total of 60 teachers participated in the training.

Prof. Yan Guangfen, Dean of TJU’s School of Education attended the opening ceremony on October 26. Prof. Yan extended a warm welcome to the 60 trainees. She pointed out that Tianjin was the birthplace of China’s vocational education and the national demonstration zone for modern vocational education reform, leading the development direction of vocational education across the country. Tianjin University has unique advantages in the training of vocational college leaders, managers and professional teachers. She hoped that the trainees could apply the cutting-edge concepts and methods they have learned to practical work, and become high qualified teachers with a profound knowledge of modern higher vocational education.

Sun Ping from Tianjin Polytechnic College and Wu Xin from Tianjin Art Vocational College spoke on behalf of the trainees. They expressed that they were very excited to participate the training at Tianjin University which has a long history and rich cultural heritage. They cherished this opportunity to improve themselves through learning and academic exchanges.

The training lasted for two weeks and was divided into four parts including theoretical courses, expert reports, business visits, and discussions. Professor Zeng Tianshan, deputy director of the Vocational Education Center of the Ministry of Education, Professor Sun Shanxue, vice president of the Chinese Vocational and Technical Education Association, Professor Dong Gang, chairman of the National Joint Conference of Higher Vocational College Presidents and other well-known experts and scholars brought a series of high-level academic reports to the trainees.

The trainees also visited Tian di Wei ye Technology Co., Ltd.
