On October 27th, Li Jiajun, the Party Secretary of Tianjin University, warmly welcomed a delegation led by Liu Qing, the dean of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute on Weijin Road campus. A selection of representatives from the Office of Science and Technology, School of Mechanical Engineering and Graduate School of Tianjin University attended the meeting and engaged in in-depth exchanges with the delegation.
On behalf of Tianjin University, Li greeted the delegation. He stated that Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, situated in the Yangtze River Delta region, is a new type of research and development (R&D) institute that combines technological R&D, industrial development, adequate resources and technological transfer, with sophisticated managing regime and operation mechanism.
Tianjin University’s important target in the Yangtze River region is to promote in-depth cooperation with the institute which can expectantly boost implementation of science and technology. It also serves the economic and social development of the region and country. “We also encourage all types of R&D institutes of Tianjin University to establish long-term relationships with the institute”, said Li, “with in-depth exchanges and cooperation, our institutes can acquire advanced experience of management and operation, work together to improve high-tech R&D and industrialization, and promote breakthroughs in cutting-edge technologies, thus achieving mutual benefits”.
Liu said that he was glad to develop in-depth cooperation with Tianjin University in that we ranked among the top universities in China in terms of emerging engineering education, science research and talent training. Since then, in spite of difficulties caused by the COVID-19, both sides have prioritized the emphasis to innovate ways of cooperation and promote all the cooperation programs, thus achieving impressive results.
Liu expressed that the institute will engage in more in-depth cooperation with Tianjin University in aspects of joint postgraduate training, national innovation center platform construction, and the implementation of science and technology. These actions will contribute to the Yangtze River Delta region.
