Architecture Students Win TEAM20 Award

On August 31st, 2020,TEAM20 wrapped out its 8th Annual Architecture and Urban Planning Horizon Award. The work "One Hundred Years of Reappearance" by Shuming Zhang and Wenyuan Zhu, architecture students from Tianjin University’s School of Architecture, stood out from many works at home and abroad and won the TEAM20 Award. 

The work "One Hundred Years of Reappearance" by Shuming Zhang and Wenyuan Zhu was designed for National Comprehensive Health Joint Graduation Project, which was guided by TJU teacher Yilin Song, Weiyang Jia, and Wei Li

The project is located in the Chengxiang Ancient Town, Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu city in Sichuan Province. With the support of online questionnaire data, the function of the industrial culture and folk memory museum required by the design brief was dismantled to the entire community, and the age barrier of the community was broken by means of dismantling the museum.Reflection on the integration of different age groups was exhibited through the dots and lines. The vivid and rich space planning and the traditional graphic expression complemented each other, which was highly praised by the juries.

Since 2013, TEAM20 has been hosting the competition for architecture graduates. It focuses on the graduation design works in Architecture and Urban Planning, discusses urban development strategies such as new urbanization, old city reconstruction, and heritage protection and reuse. TEAM20 has become an important communication platform and brand project in the architecture fields of the two sides of the Taiwan Straits. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TEAM20 hosted this year’s competition online and promoted its activities via a variety of online media, receiving a total of 183 entries submitted by participants from China, Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States.
