On April 14, 2020, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences published the list of major projects approved by the National Social Science Fund of China. The project ‘Research on the Legal System of Ecological and Environmental Protection from the Perspective of Modernization of NationalGovernance’, led by Professor Sun Youhai from the Law School, sealed one place. This is the second time that Professor Sun Youhai has won the bid for a major project of the National Social Science Fund of China，comprising the 5^thmajor projects undertaken by the Law School.

Approved by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences, the major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China are the most challenging and athoritative projects in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences in China with the most abundant fundings. They aim to encourage general social science workers to concentrate on academic research, and create innovative works that have enduring value.
