On July 30, the 2020 Tianjin University Commencement Day and Degree Granting Ceremony was held. At the ceremony, 4421 undergraduates, 923 master’s students and 207 Ph.D. students were granted degrees.

For the first time in TJU’s graduation ceremony, graduates attended the event through both online and offline.

Tianjin University leaders, alumni, faculty, and graduate representatives were present to extend their best wishes. Graduates of the class of 2020 as well as their parents, relatives and friends, and other faculty, students and alumni attended this ceremony through Tianjin University's official Weibo, bilibili, Douyin, Kuaishou, Weishi, as well as V.People, CCTV, Learning Platform, Xinhuanet and other platforms. The ceremony was presided over by Lei Ming, deputy secretary of the university party committee.

At the beginning of the ceremony, all faculty and students on the scene stood in silence in honor of all that who lost their lives in the COVID-19 epidemic.

At the ceremony, representatives of graduate students, alumni and faculty, as well as the President of Tianjin University delivered speeches.

The leaders of departments and schools extended their best wishes to the graduates through video.
