TJU’s Qinhuangdao Research Institute Contributes to Urban Development

Tianjin University’s Qinhuangdao Environmental Protection Research Institute accelerated the commercialization of high and new technologies of water treatment, contributing to the development of Qinhuangdao city.

"With this technology, we achieved the goal of upgrading five types of water in the Xiaotanghe river treatment project of Qinhuangdao." Said Liu Xiaojing, Deputy Director of Qinhuangdao Environmental Protection Research Institute of Tianjin University. She added that at present, the institute has more than 200 advanced instruments, such as gas chromatograph, high performance liquid chromatograph, gas chromatography-mass spectrometer, and atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer. Besides, it also possesses many laboratories including independent microbiology laboratory, PM2.5 constant temperature and humidity room, olfactory identification room, which can meet the needs of testing and research work. In the future, the institute will focus on the all-round water pollution prevention and control research.

On river water purification, the research institute has made outstanding research achievements, among which the solidified carrier microbial generation system has been successfully applied to urban environmental management.

Water quality for enterprises in rubber, dyeing, papermaking and other industries are being tested in the river water purification laboratory of Qinhuangdao Environmental Protection Research Institute of Tianjin University.

As the analyzing and testing center of the research institute, the river water purification laboratory performs research and testing tasks of the institute, and independent testing, accrediting, and evaluating organization for the third party.

Over the years, combined with the strong scientific research strength and R & D team of Tianjin University and its research institute, Qinhuangdao Environmental Protection Research Institute of Tianjin University, has carried out research and development of systematic and supporting technology, as well as engineering research.
