In recent years, Tianjin University, adhering to the concept of green development, vigorously promotes the construction of an economical university. In the progress of exploring water conservation and the construction of a green ecological campus, the Logistics Department at Peiyangyuan Campus actively develops new ideas to build the university into a green ecological campus.
At Peiyangyuan Campus, the campus green space maintenance area is about 800000 square meters, so it needs a lot of water to maintain the green space and water the plants.
In order to promote water saving irrigation more effectively, the property office optimized the maintenance configuration, differentiated the maintenance effect of school protection forest area, west nursery and main landscape area, and carried out graded maintenance. By optimizing the maintenance and scientifically adjusting the frequency of greenbelt irrigation, the growth of the basic green areas was ensured, and the main landscape area of the campus achieved ecologically harmony and environmentally beautiful.
While watering the green irrigation, many measures are introduced according to different conditions.
The greenbelt on both sides of the water system and the central island is irrigated by using gasoline pump to pump water. According to the statistics, from October 2009, the use of lake water for irrigation is about 53000 tons, saving more than 250000 yuan of the cost.
For lawn area, micro spray irrigation is used. Low-pressure water pump and pipeline system were used to deliver water, and sprays water into the air to disperse into small droplets and sprinkle them on the branches and leaves of plants or on the ground through specially designed water belt. Through observation, micro spray irrigation can not only meet the needs of soil water absorption, but also prevent unnecessary surface runoff.
Besides, the utilization of water and snow water is increased. Grassland on the north side of Qingnian Lake is irrigated with water treated by reclaimed water system. In winter, pollution-free snow is collected in the lawn area, so as to reduce the amount of water for irrigation when grasses turn green. According to statistics, since October 2019, reclaimed water irrigation has been used, saving more than 20000 yuan of the cost.
On the basis of practicing the principle of saving resources and protecting environment to the maximum extent, the property office pays more attention to excavate and create a beautiful and harmonious and ecological environment, improve the quality of campus landscape and play the important role of environmental education. The carefully cultivated plants complement the cultural environment of the campus. In the spring and autumn, various activities are organized to enjoy the flowers and the fallen leaves in a beautiful environment.
