The THE Awards are widely recognized as the Oscars of the higher education sector. This year, THE Awards Asia has 10 categories. “International Strategy of the Year” is given to an institution for outstanding success in building institutional partnerships, overseas operations and a strategic approach to international staff and student recruitment.

According to THE source, 80 universities have made the shortlist, after more than 250 institutions from almost 30 territories submitted entries.

Phil Baty, THE’s Chief Knowledge Officer said, “Once again we were delighted that so many universities, from an impressive number of countries and territories, submitted their best and most inspirational stories to us for this year’s THE Awards Asia. We have now whittled down 250 excellent entries to a final 80, and it’s clear that our judges face a huge challenge to select just eight winners. We have already excluded many brilliant entries to reach this stage, so all of you featured on this year’s shortlists should be incredibly proud of making it this far.”
