Tianjin University and JITRI Develop Industry-University-Research Institute Cooperation

On May 20, Tianjin University and Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI) launched an online meeting to develop industry-university-research institute cooperation.

Attendees included representatives from Tianjin University, including Cui Zhenduo, Dean of the Office of Science and Technology, and representatives of the Schools of Mechanical Engineering, Precision Instruments and Optoelectronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Materials Science and Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Life Sciences, Microelectronics, Electrical and Information Engineering, College of Intelligence and Computing, and representatives from JITRI, including Liu Qing, President of Jiangsu Institute of Industrial Technology, and its affiliated 52 specialized institutes and 62 industrial technology innovation centers.

President Liu Qing hoped that through online and offline exchanges, both parties could promote all-round cooperation including joint technology development, achievement commercialization, and technical services to achieve a win-win situation for the university and enterprises. Dean Cui Zhenduo mentioned that in 2019, Tianjin University’s scientific research funds related to the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements exceeded 500 million yuan. He hoped that the two parties could continue to deepen cooperation in the future, explore new models of industry-university-research institute cooperation, and promote Tianjin University’s scientific research results to Jiangsu and the entire Yangtze River Economic Belt.

The meeting focused on four fields: energy and environmental protection, electronic information, equipment manufacturing and biomedicine.
