Tianjin University and SMDERI Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On April 20, Tianjin University and Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research Institute (SMDERI) signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

In terms of scientific research cooperation, the two parties will give priority to launch a joint research in clean fuel, intelligent ship, intelligent engine, underwater fuel cell, etc. Both sizes will bring their respective advantages into full play, improve their technological innovation and independent research and development capabilities. Previously, the School of Mechanical Engineering of Tianjin University and SMDERI have carried out numerous exchanges, forming cooperation intentions on more than 10 projects.

SMDERI is affiliated to China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSIC). SMDERI is the only national-level research institute on marine diesel engine in China. Since December in 2019, TJU has carried out comprehensive strategic cooperation with CSIC.
