With a focus on global change and sustainable development, Tianjin University launches a new Bachelor’s degree program in Geography that is to welcome its first student intake in fall 2020.

This program is designed to provide an understanding of the Earth and its human and natural complexities and to empower and motivate students to become highly qualified critical thinkers who will respond to global sustainability with competence. It emphasizes that the physical and the human should be studied together, and sets up inter-disciplinary courses combining natural science and social science.

It also attaches great importance to broadening students’ international horizon. Joint training programs with leading international partner institutions and further education programs will be introduced to provide students with opportunities to study or do internship in renowned universities worldwide.

So far, TJU has tied with Earth science related schools at University of Birmingham (UK), University of Glasgow (UK), and Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel).
