On December 3, a Strategic and Cooperative Framework Agreement was signed between Tianjin University and China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited in Shanghai. In order to achieve common high-quality development and boost the building of a maritime power, both parties will pool their favorable resources together and make comprehensive cooperation in fundamental research, industrialization and cultivation of talents.

Through the agreement, Tianjin University and China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited aim to improve innovation ability in marine science and technology, grasp core technology and realize industrial transformation and upgrading. Both parties will conduct all-around cooperation in the following fields such as marine equipment, mechanical power as well as research and development of new materials. Together, they will also explore new models of cooperation between universities and enterprises, bringing forth new ideas in cooperative mechanism and committing to original innovation. In addition, they will accelerate the application of scientific findings, achieve win-win cooperation and serve both the national strategy and development of relevant industries so as to make contributions for building an innovation-oriented nation.
