Prof. Yingjin Yuan Awarded “Wuxi AppTec Life Science and Chemistry Outstanding Achievement Award”

On December 8, 2019, the winners of the 13th “Wuxi AppTec Life Science and Chemistry Awards” were announced in Beijing. Prof. Yingjin Yuan from Tianjin University won "Outstanding Achievement Awards."

Originating in 2007, the “Wuxi AppTec Life Science and Chemistry Awards” aims to reward young and middle-aged scientific researchers who are engaged in life science research and related fields and have accomplished remarkable achievements in scientific research innovation, achievement promotion and high-tech industrialization.The average age of previous winners is 45 years old. Up to now, 225 outstanding scientists have been recipients, of whom nineteen were later elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Prof. Yingjin Yuan, created the technique of target positioning and precision repair of synthetic genomic defects, solving the problem of precision customization synthesis of long chromosomes, and achieving landmark progress in the field of synthetic biology.

“Congratulations to all of the award winners for their exceptional scientific accomplishments.We pay tribute to these scientists,” said Dr. Ge Li, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wuxi AppTec, “We will continue to support more outstanding scientific research projects for researchers, relying on the Wuxi AppTec platform , to help them realize their innovative dreams, so that more new drugs and good drugs will be put on the market earlier for the benefit of the vast number of patients.”
