On December 3, the Fuel-cell Engine Committee of the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines (CSICE) was inaugurated in Weichai Power Co., Ltd, Weifang, Shandong province. Academicians, experts and representatives in the field witnessed this significant moment. Jin Donghan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of the CSICE, and President of Tianjin University attended the meeting.

At the meeting, President Jin Donghan noted that the Fuel-cell Engine Committee would play a constructive role in the sustainable development of the internal combustion engine field. It will be committed to building a national platform for professional communication as well as academic exchange, promoting technological innovation and academic activities in internal combustion engines, particularly in fuel-cell engines.

Both Jin Donghan and Zhang Jiujun, the Director of the Fuel-cell Engine Committee of CSICE and Dean of the Shanghai University Institute of Sustainable Energy unveiled the Fuel-cell Engine Committee. Letters of appointment were presented to the first Director, Vice Director, Secretary General, and Deputy Secretary General of the Fuel-cell Engine Committee at the meeting. Jiao Kui, a professor in Tianjin University’s School of Mechanical Engineering was appointed as the Vice Director.

A forum on hydrogen energy and fuel cells was also held in conjunction with the meeting.
