On November 22,Transactions of Tianjin UniversityAcademic Journal was announced for inclusion in the “China STEM Journal Excellence Action Plan” and will receive 400,000 yuan in funding annually for five consecutive years.

The China STEM Journal Excellence Action Plan is jointly implemented by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the General Administration of Press and Publication, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. It aims at improving the quality of Chinese scientific journals and bringing them in line with world leading journals. 285 projects were selected for the 2019 China STEM Journal Excellence Action Plan.

It is noteworthy thatTransactions of Tianjin Universityhas received national funds for scientific journals consecutively since 2016 when it received support from the International Influence Promotion Program of Chinese Sci-tech Journals. Shifting emphasis from its traditional focus as a comprehensive academic journal to a special issue on energy, chemical engineering and materials,Transactions of Tianjin Universitywill focus on publishing articles on solar energy and photoelectricity, hydrogen production and storage, fuel cells, carbon dioxide conversion and storage, photoelectricity conversion, energy storage and conversion materials, batteries and super capacitors, catalytic conversion, clean utilization of coal and oil, biofuels as well as energy policies. With the support of the nation and the school, the editorial office led by the chief editor Gong Jinlong has made a concerted effort to improve the quality of the journal. It is hoped thatTransactions of Tianjin Universitywill rank among the world’s leading journals in the near future.
