The official awards announcement for the 16th Tianjin Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award was recently published, with 23 research achievements from Tianjin University winning awards, including 5 first prizes, 5 second prizes and 13 third prizes.

Professor Feng Jicai from the Feng Jicai Research Institute of Literature and Art, Professor Feng Nan and Professor Liu Bingsheng from the College of Management and Economics, Professor Xiao Fengxiang from the School of Education, and Professor Cao Lei from the School of Architecture brought home the first prizes. Their achievements in research revolve around various fields such as oral history methodology, social psychology, large group decision making, engineering education reform and innovative application of creative transformation of cultural heritage.

Additionally, the research results of Professor Zhang Yukun from the School of Architecture, together with other 4 achievements, won second prize and the work of Professor Yan Xiaofeng from the School of Marxism won third prize together with other 12 research achievements.

The Tianjin Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, organized every 2 years, is approved by the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, and is the highest award in the field of social science in Tianjin issued by the municipal government. After the formal examination, preliminary evaluation, re-evaluation, final evaluation and publicity, the Evaluation Office will select the outstanding achievements with high academic value and great social response. The award-winning achievements represent the significant progress TJU has made in the study on Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, management, economy, architectural culture, education and law. These achievements concentrate on the major cultural demands of the country and keep abreast of the practical needs of Tianjin’s social and economic development, which have created important academic influence and social value.
