The School of Science held a doctoral forum on Peiyangyuan Campus on Nov.2nd. The theme of the forum is “the Functional Materials Innovation in the Intersection of Chemistry and Physics”, aiming to encourage doctoral students to conduct interdisciplinary and comprehensive academic researches.
2019 School of Science Doctoral Academic Forum
At the opening ceremony, Prof. Liu Changlong, Party Secretary of the Science School, Prof. Qi Wei representing tutors and Associate Dean Wang Yong spoke at the conference. They introduced the development history of the school’s postgraduate education, summarized what previous doctoral training programs in the school had achieve, and advocated to build various academic platforms for the doctoral students to develop their academic abilities.
At the main forum, Researcher Wang Hailin, from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Chen Shuqi, from Nankai University first talked about the “Highly Sensitive Nucleic Acid Modification and Epigenetics Research” and “Artificial Microstructured Light Field Control Physics and Its Application” respectively.
In the sub-forum in the afternoon, more than 30 reports were presented by the doctoral students, showing the latest research progress and achievements, which are all evaluated by the judges who then gave advices and suggestions. More than 100 doctoral students participated the forum.
