On October 6, Tianjin University (TJU) and the Metallurgical Construction Research Institute (MCC) signed the “Project System” Doctor of Engineering Enrollment and Training Agreement at Tianjin University.

Yue Qingrui, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Party Secretary and Chairman of the MCC, and Zheng Gang, Executive Dean of the Graduate School of TJU, signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties.

The two sides mapped out an overall layout and prospects for the in-depth development of university-enterprise cooperation.

TJU has proposed a new pilot program on “Project System” Doctor of Engineering selection. The university has established a training platform with carrier and stability mechanisms through university-enterprise cooperation. Customized plans have been made to cultivate leading engineering talents in several aspects such as a training program, teaching evaluation, a tutoring team, curriculum design and dissertation defense to better serve the national innovation-driven development strategy. In April 2019, MCC and TJU signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement. This time, the two sides jointly carried out the training of “project system” doctors of engineering once again, which is a substantial measure and innovative exploration for the promotion of talent training on the basis of the comprehensive cooperation agreement.
