Building 42 Restaurant Wins Special Gold Medal at 29th Chinese Chef Festival

The 29th Chinese Chef Festival was held in Tianjin on September 23, 2019. Almost 1,500 master cooks from over 30 provinces and cities in China gathered to compete in cooking and demonstrate the diet culture.

As the only university catering enterprise invited in the grand event, Tianjin University's Building 42 restaurant showed its unique specialties with names such as: Tianjin University Feast, Seeking Truth from Facts, Glorious Future, and Ascending the New Peak. The dishes attracted many visitors to take photos and went viral at the display area. The restaurant also won the special gold medal at the Theme Feast Competition of the National Cooking Skills Contest.

Cui Yue, restaurant chef and Wang Anji, a cook in the restaurant were the winners of the special gold medal for Chinese Hot Dishes in the National Cooking Skill Finals with the following creative dishes including Zeng Beng Carp (a traditional Tianjin dish), Shining Shrimp with Lotus, Diced Fish in White Sauce, and Steamed Cabbage Rolls with Chinese Chestnuts.

Through this opportunity, the building 42 restaurant intends to build a professional cook team and create catering culture featuring a Taste of Tianjin University. Committed to passing on the Tianjin University culture, it has made continuous efforts to improve meeting reception service with characteristics of Tianjin University and establish an excellent brand service of the restaurant.
