Tianjin Classical Orchestra Holds a Concert at SPST

On the afternoon of September 5th, Tianjin Classical Orchestra's "Classical Time" quartet team was invited to hold a concert at Tianjin University’s School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (SPST). The event was jointly organized bySPST, the Tianjin Personnel and Social Welfare Center and the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra.

The concert was held in TJU’s 24th Teaching Building.

The Tianjin Symphony Orchestra classical time quartet team performed more than ten excellent ancient and modern Chinese and foreign songs such asThe Butterfly Lovers,Booming Flowers and a Full Moon,Blue Danube WaltzandMozart Serenades & Divertimenti. More than 60 Chinese and international teachers and students from SPST enjoyed the concert.

When the familiar melody of the finale, a Chinese songMy Country and Me,sounded, the teachers and students sang in unison as a salute to the 70thanniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

"In a month, Chinese people will celebrate the 70thanniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. As we listen to this song, a sense of mission and pride in our prospering country arises spontaneously. We must take the initiative to shoulder the mission of leading young people to the new era." Jingran Zhang, a Master student of SPST said proudly holding the national flag in her hand tightly.

Before the performance, Cuiling Feng, the party secretary of the school’s Committee accompanied the guests to visit the undergraduate experimental teaching center, instrument platforms and academic exchange areas of SPST.

Jian Feng, the director of the Integrated Personnel Service Center of the Tianjin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Hongkun Zhang, the vice secretary of the Party Branch of the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra, and Meirong Zhao, the vice Party Secretary of Tianjin University, and Jay Siegel, the president of the SPST were present at the concert.
