On August 30, the Symposium on Procuratorial Theory Work of the Procuratorial Research Base was held in the East District Office Building of the Supreme People's Procuratorate. It was also the unveiling ceremony where the title of “Research Base of Procuratorial Basic Theory was conferred on Tianjin University by Supreme People's Procuratorate.

Lei Ming, the deputy party secretary of Tianjin University delivered a speech in which she pointed out that the base would facilitate the interaction between legal theories and law practice. “The cooperation between the procuratorates and higher education institutes will not only improve the teaching and research quality of law colleges and universities, but will also provide intellectual support to the procuratorates, especially in judicial document drafting and legal case handling. Tianjin University as one of the first batch of “double first-class” universities in China, will try its best to provide such support. “Lei said.

Zhang Jun, the chief procurator from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate presided over the symposium.

It is reported that Tianjin University is among the 16 higher education institutes that cooperated with the Supreme People’s Procuratorate and established research bases.
