Tianjin Center for Brain Science Founded

Ratified by the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Tianjin Center for Brain Science was founded in September with the support of Tianjin University.

Brain science studies how the human brain works—how people think, remember and learn. It is considered by many as the “crown jewel” in scientific research. As new technologies like brain imaging, biosensing and human–computer interaction emerged, brain science has become an important interdisciplinary frontier science.

Based on the research and clinical practice carried out in the Tianjin University Huanhu Hospital and the Tianjin University Academy of Medical Engineering and Translational Medicine, theTianjin Center for Brain Sciencewill focus on such research areas as brain science and cognitive science, neural engineering and bio-machine interactions, brain-inspired intelligence and medical applications, and seeks to provide a comprehensive experimental and research center for foreign and domestic scientists alike.
