Walking Competition Held by SEIE

 Athletics

In the early summer when everything thrives, the School of Electrical and Information Engineering (SEIE) held a Walking Competition that lasted a total of 30 days. Two hundred and eighty-seven teachers and students participated in the competition in teams or individually.

"We initiated the activity to promote environmental-friendly, low-carbon and healthy ways to exercise. Some labs joined the competition as a group, including both professors and students. It provides them a good opportunity to enhance team spirit and to promote the connection and mutual understanding among team members," one of the organizers said.

People who participated also had something to share about the activity:

Big Pace Team

Walking doesn’t require special equipment and is not limited by conditions like time, location, age or gender compared to other types of physical exercise. It is a sport that is easy to do, suitable for any age, free of charge, and effective. It is also considered a low-carbon and environmentally-friendly sport that keeps us moving forward unceasingly at a steady pace.

Walk-man Team

We don’t need energy reactors like Iron Man. Go walking together, breathe in fresh air, bathe in warm sunshine, rejuvenate your soul, dream big, and keep ample energy every day. We will keep exercising and face the challenges of every single day with strong bodies.

Participation-Matters Team

We walk every day. We can improve our body strength through walking. We hope that activities like this can be held more often.

Walking and Eating Team

By holding activities like this (competition), not only was it good for teachers and students physically and mentally, but also it increased communication and friendship among us and showed cohesion, power and developed the spirit of “Unity is strength and unity is victory”.

The activity aimed to encourage teachers and students to actively participate in physical exercise, establish a communication platform, foster an atmosphere of advocating fitness and pursuing healthy lifestyles and make people able to work and study with more enthusiasm and more active spirit.
