Zhang Chunting

Professor Zhang Chunting was born in Yantai, Shandong, in September 1936. After receiving his Bachelor of Science from the Department of Physics at Fudan University in 1961, Professor Zhang furthered his study in theoretical physics at Fudan. He earned his Master’s degree in 1965, and began to teach in the Department of Physics at TJU in 1984. In 1995, he was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and in 2001, obtained membership in the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). Professor Zhang is also an offshore researcher of the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics-Italy (ICTP), and a member of the American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS). Professor Zhang served for ten sessions as the judges for the Yangtze River Scholar Professors granted by the Ministry of Education, and for many sessions as the/a judge for the National Thousand Talents Program, 973 Program, and 863 Program.
