Laboratory for Internal Combustion Engine and Combustion
- Founded in 1986, the laboratory is the only State Key Laboratory in this area as well as an important base for relevant applied research. The laboratory has a young and strong research team consisting of 11 professors, 14 associate professors and one Yangtze Scholar, etc.

Laboratory for Precision Testing Techniques and Instrument
- Co-founded by TU and Tsinghua in 1995, the laboratory integrates the strengths of both universities in the field of precision testing and instrument. The laboratory focuses on the key technologies of precision testing and instrument, aiming at facilitating national economic development and state key projects. Its research areas include laser and electronic testing techniques, precision measurement, intelligent instruments, and nano- testing techniques.

United Laboratory for Chemical Engineering
- The laboratory is engaged in the fundamental research in the fields of chemical engineering of interest to chemical, petroleum refining, gas processing, pharmaceutical, and biotechnological industries. The main research areas include gas-liquid transport processes and distillation, industrial crystallization and particle engineering, membrane process and seawater desalination, advanced catalytic materials and energy resource development, high-pressure adsorption and light gas fuel storage, process intensification and integration.

- Established in 2011, the laboratory is committed to hydraulic engineering and safety research, and specializes in combining theory and engineering practice with solid technology basis, advanced facilities and complimentary specialist skills and disciplinary system.
